Assistant Professor, Insect Disease Transmission in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (BMB), closing date January 10, 2015. Qualified applicants will hold a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related molecular life science field and have post-doctoral experience. Teaching experience and evidence of successful grant preparation are desirable. The successful applicant will establish a highly productive, externally funded research program in the general area of arthropod-vectored diseases in humans or animals, although other insect related research programs that complement existing strengths within the Department (protein chemistry, proteomics, genomics, enzymology, plant biology, etc.; will also be considered. Additionally, the candidate will direct graduate and undergraduate research, participate in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, and engage in collaborative research. The position includes a competitive start-up package and research space within the Howard Medical Sciences Building.
